 There are already doctests in place for the english_upper and
 english_lower methods.  We should make sure that these replacement
 functions are used everywhere in place of the standard .upper, .capitalize
 etc.

 Robert, do you suggest we open a ticket for that issue, and is the above
 approach the correct one?
